Jay W. is a yellow racing fan that first appears in Cars, and makes a later appearance in Mater the Greater. He is a rather flat version of a 1993 Ford F-150, with a license plate that reads "4RBJ8".

He is named after Cars art coordinator and character manager Jay Ward, referencing his in-depth knowledge and love of cars.

History

In Cars, Jay W. is seen attending the Motor Speedway of the South race, alongside several other racing fans, including Mia, Tia, and Christina Wheeland. Jay can be seen with a large yellow Piston Cup souvenir on his roof.

In Mater the Greater, Jay makes another appearance at the Motor Speedway of the South, watching Mater the Greater perform some of his stunts, including jumping over a variety of rusty cars, diving into a small kiddie pool, and jumping through a ring of fire.
