George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, social critic and author who performed the voice of Fillmore in Cars and Cars: The Videogame. Carlin passed away on June 22, 2008 from heart failure. Lloyd Sherr took over the role of Fillmore following his death.

He was most well known for his stand-up comedy which he performed for nearly five decades, his role as Rufus in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and as the American narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends for the show's first to fourth seasons and playing Mr. Conductor in Shining Time Station, replacing Ringo Starr.
