Jay W. is a yellow racing fan that first appears in Cars, and makes a later appearance in Mater the Greater. He is a rather flat version of a 1993 Ford F-150, with a license plate that reads "4RBJ8".
He is named after Cars art coordinator and character manager Jay Ward, referencing his in-depth knowledge and love of cars.

In Cars, Jay W. is seen attending the Motor Speedway of the South race alongside several other racing fans, including Mia, Tia, and Christina Wheeland. Jay can be seen with a large yellow Piston Cup souvenir on his roof.
