History

Before Cars

Floyd Mulvihill has trained as an automotive engineer, decided to put down his tools and pursue his life-long passion to race. He competed in the Junior Piston Cup Pro Series with the likes of Sage VanDerSpin and graduated to the Piston Cup in 2005.

Cars

In Cars, Floyd competes during the Dinoco 400 race at the the Motor Speedway of the South, which was the final race of the Piston Cup season. During the race, he and Rusty Cornfuel where passed by Lightning McQueen by him using a tilt technique to squeeze through the space between Floyd and the wall. Both where left in shock at the technique he used. Later, he took part in an accident between almost all of the competitors that was caused by Chick Hicks, during which he had collided with Slider Petrolski. However, he didn't receive too much damage and was able to finish the race.

Mulvihill appears in The World of Cars Online video game, where he is one of the opponent racers at the Big Heartland Speedway, along with Rusty Cornfuel and Ruby Oaks.

Cars 3

In Cars 3, Floyd is still competing in the Piston Cup. However when Jackson Storm makes his debut during midseason, interest of Next-Gen racers rose, due to them having better achievements on the tracks. Floyd retired and was replaced by Richie Gunzit, the Next-Gen Gasprin racer.

In Cars, Floyd Mulvihill is a Stodgey Suaver EX[1] stock car and uses Lightyear racing tires. His eye color is blue. He had blue front and boot with yellow cabin and sides. He had a blue number 70 on his roof and sides. On his hood and backs of his sides, he had a logo of Gasprin. He had a yellow stickers that imitated lights. His hubcaps were dark gray. In Cars 3, he has a completely different design, that being a Capitol Motors Mark II with an updated Gasprin logo and a blue roof.
