Mainline series chronology
Preceded by Supercharged
Followed by World of Cars

The Walmart Cars Assortment was a collection of eight 1:55 scale die-cast Character Cars introduced in 2007. They were sold exclusively at Walmart stores in the United States, as part of a special Cars-themed pallet that prominently displayed in the toy aisle. The vehicles were released in two waves of four cars each, with the official drop date listed as September 30, 2007.

The packaging shows a screenshot of the character on a large jumbotron, with the background closely resembling the Motor Speedway of the South from the opening scene of Cars. It notably omits the Supercharged logo from the then-current mainline series.

History

The initial wave of characters included Cactus Lightning McQueen, Ghostlight Ramone (each based on scenes in Cars and Mater and the Ghostlight, respectively) as well as two other Cars characters, T.J. and Al Oft. They were released alongside tie-in storybooks.
