Mato (pronunciation key; Mätō) is Mater's competitive and wealthy older sister. In Cars on the Road, she gets married to Mateo by her cousin-in-law Cruz Ramirez.
History
At one point before Gettin' Hitched, Mateo and Mato met and got engaged to be wed.
At their wedding, she meets Cruz Ramirez and Lightning McQueen, the latter of which commenting that she seemed nice to Mater, who had previously mentioned how his sister and him don't get along too well. Mater told Lightning to "wait for it," moments before she and her brother start arguing. They both decided to hold a contest to see who's better, much to the dismay of Justice Stern and Mateo. After the first challenge, Cruz starts refereeing the contest which grows in matches constantly until Mato wins with fifty-one out of one-hundred. After Mater and Mato continue arguing, Cruz reveals she also dabbles in family therapy, and in her words, they had a "very transformative conversation" where the two siblings finally make peace with each other. However due to all this taking a large amount of time, Justice Stern leaves, and the couple assumes the wedding is off. However, Cruz reveals that she is also a certified wedding officiant and pronounces them married. They later went to the World's Largest Tire Maze for their honeymoon.
