He is involved in the accident created by Chick Hicks, during which he is seen hitting Winford Bradford Rutherford and Murray Clutchburn, and while he suffers some minor physical damage, he is still able to continue racing. During the final lap, Ralph finished in 8th place behind the three-way tie of The King, Chick Hicks, and Lightning McQueen.
Cars 3
Ralph Carlow appears in Cars 3, competing in the Piston Cup against the next-generation racers. He is one of the veterans still racing at the Los Angeles International Speedway race where Lightning McQueen has his crash, but sometime between that and the Florida 500, he retires and is replaced by a next-generation racer named Spikey Fillups.

"Number 117, Ralph Carlow is the little brother to famous Hollywood actor, Jordon Carlow. The two brothers had little respect for what the other did for a living, but when Jordon got a role playing a race car in the film "Racing Hearts," he was forced by the studio to spend time shadowing his brother Ralph. After two long months of research, Jordon came away with a new respect for how hard racing really is, and after seeing his brother's performance in the film Ralph gained a new respect for acting. Since then, Jordon never misses a race and Ralph never misses a premiere." |

- In Cars 3, he lost his original blue rims and was almost entirely painted red.
- His Disney Store diecast is incorrectly depicted with a camera and a blue bumper instead of a red one.
- The Lil' Miss Piston's "forehead" on his left rear fender is extended slightly
- He's the only Brawny Motor Co. Spark GT without a grille.
- But after he was converted into a Capitol Motors Mark II in Cars 3, he has a grille.
- Ralph, Lightning McQueen, Todd Marcus, Dirkson D'Agostino, Darren Leadfoot, Ponchy Wipeout, Ernie Gearson, Floyd Mulvihill and Murray Clutchburn are the all racers to return from Cars, Except Lightning McQueen, Ralph along with other Returning racers, underwent some redesigns and was converted into the Capitol Motors Mark II.
