- —Chick Hicks, Cars (comic)
Sammy the Studebaker, known by friends as Stu, is a professional race car who competed in the 1950s alongside Doc Hudson, with whom Sammy shared a rivalry with. During the final lap of the 1954 championship race, Sammy intentionally sideswiped Hudson, causing him to spin out of control and crash, allowing Sammy to win the championship. The incident forced Doc out of the spotlight, and the two racers would not meet again until the 2000s, when Sammy came to Radiator Springs, unaware of Doc's residence there.
Sammy is a 1951 Studebaker Champion Land Cruiser with a light green livery. He raced with the number 23.
