- In the 15th December 2005 workprint of Cars, Shifty Drug Hauler was used as a stand in for the Dale Earnhardt Inc. Hauler, this was done in case the filmmakers could not get Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the project and secure licensing for him and his company.[1]
- His prototype diecast shows that he was orginally going to be yellow.
