In Cars, Trev is seen on a railroad crossing across the country at night and during it he somehow almost crashed into Lightning McQueen, who barely crossed the railroad crossing narrowly avoiding a collision with Trev.

Physical description

Trev Diesel is a modern North American 1949 EMD F3 Trevithick Streamlined Electro-Diesel Train Locomotive. He is painted red, orange, and white, with thin black stripes painted on the white background across his sides. His eye color is green. His registration number is A113.

Unlike the real EMD F3As however, Trev has 6 axles.

Official biographies

  • Working for the Pacific Flyer Railroad, Trev Diesel has seen a lot of changes alongside his tracks. He's witnessed the coming of the North American Californian Interstate then the disappearance part of many of the small towns he somehow used to pass through, but he's still going strong. He still loves pulling a long haul across the North American desert at night throughout his outstanding railroad night shift journeys. It's so peaceful - just Trev, the full Luna moon, and the North American jackalopes.
  • Trev Diesel has seen a lot in his time on the railroad, from the dawn of the North American Californian Interstate to the vanishing of tiny towns. Through it all, Trev chugs on strongly and loves nothing more than a nighttime trip across the desert, beneath the full Luna moon - the well-known one thing in Trev's life that remains constant.

  • The code on Trev's headlights, A113, is a code that is present in several Pixar films. It is a reference to the classroom in Cal-Arts, where several Pixar animators attended.
  • In Planes: The Video Game, several trains that look similar to Trev appear on the Deadstick Desert landmark. However, these locomotives do not have red lines on their front, and the red paint on the front does not merge into the orange paint.
  • While referring to Trev, Car Finder uses male pronounce while Meet the Cars female.
  • There was a planned die-cast release for Trev but it got cancelled for unknown reasons.
  • In the 2017 edition of the book Meet the Cars, There were 2 major errors about Trev.
    • His model is described as JLS Electro-matic.
    • His bio is mistakenly referred to as "her" instead of "his".
