Ernest B. Raykes[2] is the crew chief for the Spare Mint team in the Piston Cup. During Ernie Gearson's races, Ernest provides advice through his headset. He is respected for his ability to stay calm under pressure and keep Gearson level-headed.[1]

Raykes has a blue livery with the Spare Mint logo on his doors. His plate number is KYT49.[2]

History

In Cars, Raykes sits in the pit row at the Motor Speedway of the South, coaching Ernie as he attempts to win the Dinoco 400.

Somewhere between Cars and Cars 3 he was fired from the team and replaced by a new crew chief.
