Aiken Axler, What'll It Be?

Aiken Axler is a race car that used to compete in the Piston Cup Racing Series for the Nitroade team with the number 28. He is also a musician and has been a member of the alternative country jazz trio Three Cycle. In 2003, he was awarded with Vitoline Rookie of the Year title.

History

Before Cars

Aiken Axler was a rookie in 2003, replacing an older unnamed Nitroade racer.

Cars

In Cars, Aiken competed in the Dinoco 400 at the Motor Speedway of the South in Motor City, United States, which was the final race of the Piston Cup season. During the race he had a high position on the track. After Chick Hicks caused a huge accident between the majority of the competitors, Aiken received small damages, but was able to continue racing. Axler managed to get a good pit stop and restarted in 3rd place just behind Ernie Gearson and Lightning McQueen. He stayed near the top of the pack for the rest of the race and finished in 5th coming in after the three-way tie and Kevin Shiftright. Aiken had finished 8th overall in the season due to being in that position in the point standings.

Cars: Hotshot Racing

In Cars: Hotshot Racing, Aiken appears as a playable character. This is his only appearance in any Cars video game.

Between Cars and Cars 3

Between the events after Cars and before Cars 3, Aiken retired from racing and was replaced by Phil Tankson.

Other appearances

Aiken appears in the comic "What'll It Be?" as a major character as he visits Lightning McQueen and Radiator Springs. During his visit he was offered a special drink by Flo called the Aiken Special which was a combination of drinks which included Nitroade only for McQueen to reveal that Aiken only drinks Nitroade for advertising reasons. He later tries Fillmore's biofuel and claims he's never had biofuel that good before.
