On August 1st, 2022, Pixar revealed that Cars on the Road is set to debut on Disney+ on September 8th, 2022.
A Disney+ show based on the Cars franchise was announced for a 2022 release on Disney+ on January 4, 2021. Pixar revealed the name of the show to be Cars on the Road on November 12, 2021.
Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy (pictured) opened in Sunset Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios on March 31, 2019.
Katherine Helmond, the voice of Lizzie, was announced to have passed away on February 23, 2019.
DisneyToon Studios was shut down on June 28, 2018, thus canceling an untitled Cars/Planes spin-off film focusing on outer space.
Cars 3 was released on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the United States on November 7, 2017.
