He first appears by asking Carmen if Mater is bugging her, but Carmen, who is parked next to Mater, says that he isn't bugging her yet, "but a girl can hope." Claude however, says that Mater is bugging him. He takes Mater out into the alley and removes his left headlight and later threatens to remove Mater's blinkers. It is presumed that Clyde was arrested just like Big D at the end of the short.

As Mater's story is shown in black and white, it is unknown exactly what Clyde's true color is. However, in the short, he is shown in white, and wears a hat.
