Aiken Axler is a race car that used to compete in the Piston Cup Racing Series for the Nitroade team with the number 28. He is also a musician and has been a member of the alternative country jazz trio Three Cycle. In 2003, he was awarded with Vitoline Rookie of the Year title.

History

Before Cars

Aiken Axler was a rookie in 2003, replacing an older unnamed Nitroade racer.

Cars

In Cars, Aiken competed in the Dinoco 400 at the Motor Speedway of the South in Motor City, United States, which was the final race of the Piston Cup season. During the race he had a high position on the track. After Chick Hicks caused a huge accident between the majority of the competitors, Aiken received small damages, but was able to continue racing. Axler managed to get a good pit stop and restarted in 3rd place just behind Ernie Gearson and Lightning McQueen. He stayed near the top of the pack for the rest of the race and finished in 5th coming in after the three-way tie and Kevin Shiftright. Aiken had finished 8th overall in the season due to being in that position in the point standings.

Cars: Hotshot Racing

In Cars: Hotshot Racing, Aiken appears as a playable character. This is his only appearance in any Cars video game.

Between Cars and Cars 3

Somewhere between the events after Cars and before Cars 3, he retired and Phil Tankson superseded him as the Nitroade racer.

Bio

  • Number 28 Nitroade racer, Aiken Axler, captured the 2003 Vitoline Rookie of the Year honors in his first full season of Cup competition. He's finished 12th, 7th, and 8th in the final point standings over the past three years. Off the track, Axler enjoys maintaining his top racing form by obstinate and practicing a form of meditation called Tai Road. He and fellow Piston Cup Racer, Darrel Draggered, formed the alternative country jazz trio "Three Cycle" and performed at the 2004 Piston Cup awards ceremony!
