Artie started his carrier of sports announcer by covering local sporting events in Wilmington, Delaware, but caught the attention of Racing Sports Network executives with his ability to not just cover the race, but the story of the race as well. Artie's catchphrase is "If there's a story out there I'm just trying to cover it."
He and Brian Fee Clamp sat in the skyboxes at Piston Cup tie-breaker race at Los Angeles International Speedway, , watching the race from different camera angles, to transfer information to Bob Cutlass and Darrell Cartrip. During the race he noticed Doc Hudson, who served as Lightning McQueen's crew chief, while in his racing attire from when he competed in the Piston Cup series as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Artie then notified Bob and Darrell of this fact, who excitedly inform the audience, and everyone is surprised to see the old race car again after such a long period of time.
