Gray is a hauler and a member of the Dinoco racing team. He was Strip Weathers' hauler until 2005, and Cal Weathers' hauler until 2016. It might be likely he becomes Cruz Ramirez' hauler next film since Cruz replaced Cal Weathers in the Dinoco racing team.

History

In Cars, Gray transports Strip Weathers to the Dinoco 400 at the Motor Speedway of the South, where Weathers finishes in a three-way tie with Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks. A tie-breaker race is set to be held at the Los Angeles International Speedway, which Gray transports Strip to. After the race is done and Tex Dinoco offers McQueen the Dinoco sponsorship, Gray gives McQueen a welcoming smile while he is contemplating his decision. McQueen ultimately declines, however.

In Cars 3, Grey changes into Cal Weathers' hauler, along with a new coat of paint, but in the film, only his trailer is seen, while Lightning McQueen was watching Cal's retirement and seeing Cal leave. The cars 3 Gray can also be brought as a diecast model, mentioned as "Cal Weathers' Hauler" without his name.

    • "Gray always knew that because of his size he'd be hauling cargo across country; gas, lumber, maybe even steel like his dad, but he never dreamt that the cargo would be seven time Piston Cup Champion, "The King" Strip Weathers."[1]
