Artie started his carrier of sports announcer by covering local sporting events in [[Wilmington]], [[Delaware]], but caught the attention of [[Racing Sports Network]] executives with his ability to not just cover the race, but the story of the race as well. Artie's catchphrase is "If there's a story out there I'm just trying to cover it."


In ''[[Cars]]'', Artie is among the first to notice [[Doc Hudson]], who is serving as [[Lightning McQueen]]'s crew chief in the tie-breaker race at the [[Los Angeles International Speedway]], while in his racing attire from when he competed in the Piston Cup series as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Artie then notifies Bob and Darrell of this fact, who excitedly inform the audience, and everyone is surprised to see the old race car again after such a long period of time.
