The Race O Rama Series was the fourth series of 1:55 scale die-casts made by Mattel.

Character Cars

Mainline

The fourth iteration of the Cars mainline was the first not to re-release every existing model (exempting WOC and Sarge due to unique circumstances); of the 68 non-Chase cars produced so far, only 50 saw re-issue on standard-size ROR blister cards.

Near the end of Race-O-Rama's run, it brought the first-ever change to both the line's packaging size and vehicle design: From summer 2009 onwards, mainline vehicles were released in a smaller, see-through card design, and featured lenticular eyes that could be viewed in two different positions. The only exception were new Chase cars, which retained the traditional fixed eye expressions.

Continuing over from the World of Cars Series, mainline singles were distributed in another foramt, which were typically available at smaller retain chains like Kmart and even Target in some locations. These are packaged in a "short card" design, roughly half the size of the standard blister card. While the ticket labels display the color and symbol of their segment series, they do not sport collector numbers, instead with the text "Race-O-Rama" in place of its typical location.

Trivia

• As previously mentioned, the Lightning McQueen single now features the movie accurate ¨Rust-Eze¨ logo on the spoiler like the other McQueen variants released since World of Cars.
  • Surprisingly, this was the only Lightning McQueen that China corrected, as the rest of the Lightning McQueens released from 2006-2007 didn´t get that treatment until 2022 and 2024, where Thailand corrected Bug Mouth McQueen and Cactus Lightning McQueen.
  • Similarly, Dinoco Lightning McQueen also recieved the movie accurate ¨Dinoco¨ logo on his spoiler, like Bling Bling McQueen, although unlike Lightning McQueen, his Dinoco variant only recieved that treatment in his lenticular releases.
• This is the first time since 2007 that Sarge got re-released.
• The original prototype of Night Vision Lightning McQueen shown in San Diego Comic Con 2008 looks completely different from it´s final release, it originally used a regular McQueen body without a mouth plate and the night vision googles covered his eyes, unlike the final release where they are above his eyes.
