A conjecture is an opinion, conclusion, or name formed on the basis of incomplete, insufficient, or unavailable information. While on paper this may seem like poor practice, sometimes the use of conjecture is necessary to deliver that which is known. Per our wiki's notability guidelines, a general rule-of-thumb for deciding when a subject needs coverage or not is whether it has an official name – However, there are times when a nameless topic might still meet enough requirements to be considered noteworthy. This page offers some guidelines on when a conjectural-named article might be worthwhile, and how best to go about accommodating it.
