Cruz Ramirez is a character that will be introduced in Cars 3. She is a young, Hispanic female race car who is both a racing trainer and a technician.[1] While depicted with a sleek, dark yellow paint job and spoiler in concept art for the film, Ramirez is depicted with a Porsche-like body and yellow paint scheme in Cars 3 merchandise artwork.[2]
History
As Lightning McQueen is now a veteran in the Piston Cup Racing Series, new rookies are being introduced, and they prove a challenge for McQueen to race against, leading some to question when he will be retiring. The problems are only made worse after McQueen is involved in a rough accident during one of his races, putting his career in a bad position. In order to recover and train for the important Florida 500 event, McQueen turns to Ramirez, who attempts to figure out how an "old dog can learn some new tricks", according to Cars 3 director Brian Fee.[3]
