Phil Tankson is a race car in the 2016 Piston Cup Racing Series in Cars 3. He is #28, sponsored by Nitroade and replaces Aiken Axler in the circuit but then was fired and replaced by a next-generation racer named Tim Treadless after the debut of Jackson Storm.

in Cars 3, Phil Tankson competes in the 2016 season of the Piston Cup Racing Series. However, during the midseason, his competing comes to a stop due to the rise of popularity of high-tech Next-Generation series of race cars due to Jackson Storm. Because of this, Phil was forced to stop competing in the Piston Cup and was replaced by a next generation racer named Tim Treadless.

Physical description

Phil is an Brawny Motor Co. Spark EA race car that uses Lightyear racing tires. His eye color is grey. He has a black livery with white stripes over front wheels and orange roof and over back wheels. He has the number 28 on his sides and his roof painted with a orange to red gradient with the 28. On his hood, backsides and back he has the logo of Nitroade on them. He had stickers imitating headlights. His hubcaps are black.

Trivia

  • Racing number 28 was also used by: Aiken Axler and Tim Treadless.
  • In Cars 3 he has gray eyes but on his official artwork and concept art, his eyes are brown.
  • Phil's diecast doesn't have his number under his headlight.
  • Phil replaces Aiken Axler and is later replaced by Tim Treadless.
  • He is one of the first six veterans who gets fired and replaced by next-generation racers immediately after the Copper Canyon Speedway race.
