Car Finder Game

Mid-game

The Car Finder is an interactive game that was included on the Blu-ray edition of the Cars movie.

Gameplay

Once the game is started, you are given five different character images at the bottom of the screen. When that character appears on screen, you have to press the character image with your remote. Once the character is found, a new character will appear, and that character will have its bio unlocked in the Car Guide.

The objective of the game to find all 217 cars in the movie, and unlock their bios in the Car Guide, similar to the Bios from The Henry Stickmin Collection and the ones in the Batman Arkham series.

Levels

Level 1

The Level 1 consists of the characters who appeared at the Motor Speedway of the South. It is the easiest level in the game.

Level 2

The Level 2 consists of the characters who appeared during Lightning McQueen's trip to California, Radiator Springs residents and flashback cars. It is the hardest level in the game.

Characters

• 

  Bernie Banks
  Bernie is a notorious Piston Cup photographer known for sacrificing anything, including his own body, to get a great shot. In last year's No Grime 500, he was mid-shot when he was t-boned by an untamed racer, Buck Schooner. It cost Bernie two and a half months in the body shop, but scored him an incredible shot of Chick Hicks and the August cover of Runner Up Monthly.

  Mia and Tia
  Mia and Tia haven't missed a race in over a year, but they'd be the first to tell you they're not race fans, they're Lightning McQueen fans! Painted in his signature red and covered in McQueen stickers, the girls scream like crazy when McQueen races, they scream like crazy when he poses for photos, and they scream like crazy all the way home just thinking about him.

  Brian
  Brian thought it would be fun to sell antenna balls at the racetrack for a summer – the problem is, that summer was ten years ago. He had hoped to start seriously pursuing his singing career in September, but one thing led to another and his part-time job became his career. Brian does enjoy the excitement of the racetrack though, and sometimes when he's shouting out, "Get your antenna balls here!" over the roaring crowds, he likes to imagine he's belting out a classic show tune over the cheers of his adoring fans.

  Barry Diesel
  Barry loves Dinoco oil. He starts his day off with Dinoco Extreme Octane to give him that extra kick in the bumper, and then it's gallon after gallon of Dinoco Regular to keep him running smoothly all day. However, his wife thinks it's about time Barry switched to Dinoco Light.

• 

  Bud
  Bud's a classy rig and long-time Piston Cup loyalist who's got a funny anecdote for every racer on the track. For just a few liters of Dinoco oil, he'll probably spill a secret or two.

• 

  R.M.
  Larry and "R.M." are the best of friends: these two can usually be found raising Cain and takin' names on Redneck Hill. But despite their rowdy nature, they are true southern gentlemen, and dead serious when it comes to racing. They know the stats on every team, which is useful since they've always got a bet riding on who will be the next Piston Cup champion.

  Stacy is the pitty on the Leakless team. She's powered by both propane and a strong desire to see Team Leakless do well in each race, so she makes those pit stops quick!

  Dexter Hoover
  As a youngster Dex dreamed of being a real race car. A 4-cylinder compact pickup isn't exactly designed for the racetrack, but Dex found a way to put himself in the middle of his favorite sport. He climbed the ranks from selling pennant flags in the stands to top flagman on the circuit. His unorthodox caution flag pattern is a thing of beauty, and if it weren't for Dex, the races would never start -- and they'd never end.

  Albert Hinkey
  Albert Hinkey is McQueen's biggest fan - known as the "Buffet Master" among friends, Al can guzzle two gas stations worth of fuel in one sitting! To match his size, Al is the biggest and best friend one can ever have.

• 

  Charlie Checker
  Charlie Checker is the Piston Cup Official Pace Car. Charlie wears his amber lights with pride. He's no horsepower champ, but he doesn't mind. After all, he's always in the lead and NOBODY passes him, and that is exactly how he likes it.

• 

  Tow
  As the official tow rig of the Piston Cup circuit, Tow has pulled his share of battered, weeping champions of the track. He's seen the top racers in their lowest moments, but he always respects their privacy.

• 

  Marion "Clutches" McKay
  When you're cornered by a mob of fierce paparazzi, there's none better to call than Marion "Clutches" McKay. A twenty-year service veteran whose time was spent largely as an armored troop carrier, Marion traded in his bulletproof glass to pursue his dream of becoming a Motor Speedway of the South Security Team Leader. He loves nothing better than locking grilles with nosy camera sidecars and personally showing them the exit.

  Richard Clayton Kensington
  Richard left his wealthy, pampered life in Derbyshire, England to make his way in the states as a security officer. You'd never know how reserved and proper he once was when you hear him barking orders and shoving zealous race fans out of the gate.

• 

  Houser Boon
  Houser Boon was the first photographer to coin the now-famous phrase "Show us the bolt!" He called it out last season at a press event to Lightning McQueen who actually turned right towards him and flashed his million-dollar grille. It was indeed a proud moment for Mr. Boon—if he'd had the forethought to trademark the phrase, he could have retired twenty years early.

• 

  Dinoco Girls
  Those nine blue-feathered beauties on deck at the Dinoco publicity tent, they're the "Dinocuties." They're the last dancers standing after a fierce international competition in which the gals all lived in a giant dorm and competed for dominance on television. On the final episode, The King, Strip Weathers, hand-picked the winners.

  Lynda Weathers
  Lynda was a demolition derby queen and the toughest lady in her class - that is, until The King stole her heart with his gentlemanly charm. It wasn't long before she turned in her roll cage for a two-car garage in the country with her sweet "Daddy Rabbit."

• 

  Dash Boardman
  "Dash" Boardman never misses a shot. Dash got his big break in Tallahassee when he inadvertently made a wrong turn into the celebrity brake check area and found himself face to face with the legendary racer Spyder Dangerford. With some fast talking and quick wit, Dash left with an exclusive photo of Spyder and a scoop on the champ's inside track strategy!

  Hooman
  Hooman started off his career in the news as a "go for." The reporters and producers didn't even know his real name, they simple called him "Gofor" as they sent him off to go for lunch, go for equipment, or go for anything else they needed. But nowadays all he goes for are the big stories and everybody knows who Hooman is.

• 

  Tractor
  The earliest domestication of the North American tractors can be traced back to the 1800s during the construction of the first transcontinental railroad. Railroaders quickly discovered the tractors' ability to create level grades across even the most demanding geography. Today the native plains tractor is regarded as one of the true pioneers of the West.

• 

  The Autobahn Society
  These high-powered rollers known as The Autobahn Society fly the world in executive fashion to lay stakes against the greatest cars on the circuit. It's not uncommon for these gentlemen to bet a small fortune on everything from who will win the race, to who will come in last, and every place in between.

• 

  Cora Copper
  Cora Copper Golddigger is one of those press hounds you never want to tangle with, especially if you've got something to hide! A tireless (some say ruthless) investigator, she's uncovered dirt on the cleanest circuit racers - anything that will sell copies of her paper, "AutoMan Empire!"

• 

  Jerry Drivechain
  Jerry trained for years to be a stunt car but never quite made the cut. It certainly wasn't for lack of talent though. The truth is, forklifts just don't make good stunt cars. Thankfully, Jerry could always fall back on his legendary juggling ability. If you're lucky, you'll spot him practicing in the wee hours of the morning in various secluded parking lots.

  Fred
  Fred is truly racing's number-one fan. Some cars have better wax jobs, or attached bumpers, but do they have the heart and dedication Fred has? Not a chance. Between Fred's racing blogs, podcast, websites and daily call-ins to numerous radio shows, it's amazing Fred has time to get to any actual races.

• 

  Badge #153, Axle Accelerator
  Badge #153, Axle Accelerator, may be the fastest hot-pursuit vehicle on the force, but he's also the first to volunteer for escort duty when it comes to his favorite Piston Cup champions! No matter how cushy the job, he's always on the ready to break into the next high speed chase.

• 

  Bertha Butterswagon
  Bertha Butterswagon has made a mint off her custom line of license plate frames, each one hand painted with little teddy cars. They've swept the nation and can be found in auto part stores everywhere. Who knew a homemade holiday gift for her sister would become such a hit?

• 

  Chet Boxkaar
  Chet is known as "the two-legger" because he breaks every trucking run right down the middle. Today, after a three day run from Seattle, he'll take a twenty minute catnap, and then it's on to another three straight though to Orlando. Chet stays alert by reciting the state capitals frontward and backwards and belting out "99 bottles of brake fluid," sometimes expanding the tune to eight hundred or so bottles.

  Oliver Lightload
  Oliver likes posing as a long-haul trucker, but the truth is he just likes the Top Down Truck Stop. You see, he's actually an online stockbroker, and he lives less than a mile down the road. He likes to pop in once in a while and crack some jokes, take a nap, or just listen to stories from the constantly changing clientele, all on their way to someplace far off and exotic.

  Ben Crankleshaft
  Ben considers the open road his home, fellow truckers his family, and the Top Down Truck Stop his dining room. He has few close buddies, but can make friends in every town he passes through. Once Ben's met someone, he never forgets their name. He can recognize a familiar grille anywhere.

• 

  Duff Wrecks
  Duff has a lot of steam to blow off, especially considering he's a diesel. He spends most of his time working out, pulling rigs at the gym, and practicing tough guy comebacks to himself in the mirror, but when faced with actual conflict, he's as shy as a 4-cylinder.

• 

  Dan Sclarkenberg
  Dan Sclarkenberg knows news. And knowing news like Dan knows news allows him to cruise for new news that might no be known. Naturally, knowing news as soon as Dan knows news puts him in the know, and since he knew it when it was new and is thus able to report it in the now, then yes, Dan knows news.

  Skip Ricter
  Skip Ricter has been reporting about the race scene for years. After doing volunteer college radio broadcasts of race-day action, he got an internship at a local television station. He soon made his mark with the launch of his weekly race recap entitled "The Race Machine", which went on to reach syndication in twenty-three markets nationwide.

  Chuki
  By day, Chuki is a reporter for OEM news, but by night she's the lead singer of the infamous rattle and roll band "Grid Lock." She has fans all over the world and has received several musical award nominations for her signature tire-squealing vocals.

• 

  Jay Limo
  Jay Limo has spent countless nights on the road, crisscrossing the country perfecting his stand-up comedy act before getting his big break performing on the most popular late show in town. It wasn't long until he was asked to fill in as guest host, and eventually took over the show full time. He may be a big-time talk show host now, but that hasn't stopped him from spending countless nights on the road, crisscrossing the country, still working to perfect his comedy act.

  Sven
  Sven didn't plan to go into politics. In fact, he started off as an automotive model. He was crowned "Mr. Automotive" a record seven times. This led to roles in films like "Roll over and Die," "Roll over and Die II" and "Welcome to the Auto-Bomb." He soon made the natural leap from acting to politics, winning elections and looking good while doing it.

  Bessie
  Bessie is Radiator Springs' resident road-paving machine. Everyone agrees she's a low-maintenance gal, but more than one unsuspecting hitcher has learned her quirks the hard way. Doc likes to say laying asphalt with Bessie is more like dancing than paving. Fill her with kerosene, gravel, and tar, and she'll produce the most beautiful ribbon of blacktop you've ever seen. But be careful! Don't pull her too fast or get her steamed up. Bessie has two huge buckets of molten tar and she knows how to use them! Just ask Lightning McQueen!

  Lightning is built for speed and has just two things on his mind: winning and the perks that come with it. In his fast-paced life he has little time for anything or anyone, but who needs friends when you've got a stadium full of fans.

• Sally Sally grew tired of her life in the fast lane as a high-powered attorney in Los Angeles and made a new start in the small town of Radiator Springs. Charming, intelligent, and witty, she became the town attorney and the car most dedicated to preserving the town's historical beauty. She bought the Cozy Cone Motel and restored it back to its original condition and has no plans of stopping there. She'd fix the whole town building by building if that's what it took.

  Sally
  Sally grew tired of her life in the fast lane as a high-powered attorney in Los Angeles and made a new start in the small town of Radiator Springs. Charming, intelligent, and witty, she became the town attorney and the car most dedicated to preserving the town's historical beauty.   Mini
  Mini and her husband Van love to go out and see the world. Unfortunately they rarely see their exit. Getting lost on vacation has become somewhat of a tradition for the couple. Mini enjoys the unplanned detours. They allow her to see interesting places and folks that she would never have planned on visiting. She just wishes that her husband could enjoy that time to stop and smell the roses -- and if not, then at least stop and ask for directions.

  Van
  Van and his wife Mini love to travel; the problem is they don't know where they're going. The two share a strong sense of adventure but unfortunately a stronger lack of direction, turning most of their relaxing getaways into strenuous marathons over mountainous terrain, through the desert and past every gas station -- as Van would rather stall then ask for directions.

  Derek "Decals" Dobbs
  Derek "Decals" Dobbs came to Radiator Springs to find a job with his old pal Ramone, touching up paint jobs and giving clientele much needed facelifts. Derek not only paints cars, he also paints murals. He painted a beautiful mural on the side of one of the town shops, declaring Radiator Springs "A Happy Place".

  Dustin Mellows
  Dustin Mellows was a delivery truck for Trophy Sparkplugs in the 1950s. This mild mannered van had a monthly route that took him through Radiator Springs. On one of his regular stops, Dustin had a near head on collision with one of the locals. Their almost fatal meeting turned into a collision of fate. The couple fell in love and moved to a nearby suburb of Couperville, where they are now enjoying their relaxing retirement together.

  Milton Calypeer
  Milton loved cruising around town, greeting and being greeted as he made his way to nowhere in particular. He worked at the courthouse in Radiator Springs but purposely bought a house at the other end of town just so he could run into more folks as he made his way to and from work.

• 

  Timothy "Timezone" Truecoat
  Hot on the trail of suspected bank robbers, bounty hunter Timothy Truecoat or Timezone found himself in the sleepy town of Radiator Springs, interviewing the locals at Flo's for hours. Ultimately, it was a tip from Luigi that led him to the abandoned silver mine on the outskirts of Carburetor County, where Timezone single-handedly apprehended the notorious Gasket Gang! Seems the Gasket Gang burned through a lot of tires on their high-speed getaways.

  Greta
  Greta is on her way to Ramone's to get a full body makeover and a hot new flame job. Tonight she's going to see the renowned body shop quartet, "The Rumbles." The baritone, Chet is an old traffic school sweetheart who she hasn't seen in years, and she's got to look her best.

Trivia

• When you are on the first stage again once you beat the game, your car menu is only characters from the flashback scene instead of Piston Cup-related characters. On Stage 2, you will get all of the Piston Cup racers, making it near impossible to complete the game again.
