History

Mark "Frosty" Winterbottom was a touring car from Australia. Since 2003 he competed in the V8 Supercar championship with the number 4. He was the fastest race car in Australia, capable of reaching high speeds both on roads and on the off-roads while racing on dirt tracks in the outback of Australia. In 2011 he was invited to the opening party of the World Grand Prix at the National Art Center in Tokyo, Japan. During the party he spoke to Lewis Hamilton and briefly to Lightning McQueen. However, their conversation soon came to a stop when Mark pointed out Tow Mater talking to Zen Master, making McQueen remove himself from the conversation.

Physical description

Mark was a 2009 World Torque Champion League touring car with a 4.0 liter V-8 engine and had 470 horsepower. He had a top speed of 257 km/h (160 mph) and could reach 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds. He had Tru-Tread Traction A Temperature A P215/65R15 tires. His livery was yellow in the front and blue at the back. He had flag of Australia shaped like the country on his hood and front side doors while his back was painted like the Australian flag with the Union Jack on his back doors and stars on the roof and back. At his boot he had the Australian flag painted on there.

  • He is based on, named after and voiced by Australian V8 Supercar driver Mark Winterbottom. His paint job includes the map and flag of Australia.
  • Frosty replaces Jeff Gorvette the time of one scene in the Australian version, which is part of a localization of the movie in several countries.
  • Frosty has the same car body as Max Schnell, Long Ge, Memo Rojas, Jr., Vitaly Petrov, Pyotr Racinov, and Flash Nilsson.
  • On his diecast and in his artwork, his eyes are blue, but in the movie, they are brown.
  • Although, despite having two bios that implies that he races in the World Grand Prix. He actually doesn't in the film, making them misleading.
  • Frosty is the one of the two Super Chase racers from the 1:55 scale die-cast line to have variants. Ranging from a Silver Racers one, Neon Racers, Ice Racers and Carbon Racers variant.
    • Vitaly Petrov received one variant via the Ice Racers line.
  • While Frosty does not have a confirmed number in the series, he has been seen with two so far. He was seen with the number 4 in the Neon Racers book however the Transcontinental Race of Champions series has depicted him with the number 12.
  • Despite Frosty racing in the V8 Supercar series he does not resemble a V8 Supercar race car himself. Rather, resembling a DTM race car like Max Schnell and many others.
