Jackson Storm is a custom-built Piston Cup race car who is set to appear in the upcoming film Cars 3. A rookie in the 2017 season, he proves a challenge for racing veteran Lightning McQueen to beat, up until Lightning suffers an accident during a race.
History
Background
Storm was built specifically for racing, and his advanced design and capabilities allow him to be a frontrunner of his generation. These traits make him a very gifted Piston Cup racer, his talents rivaling and potentially exceeding those of other racers, even veteran and champion Lightning McQueen.[1]
Cars 3
In Cars 3, Storm and many other rookies make their debut in the 2017 season, joining the ranks of McQueen and other veteran race cars. During one of the season's races, McQueen suffers an accident, putting the future of his career in danger. While recovering, Rust-eze Racing Center trainer Cruz Ramirez steps in to assist McQueen in training to defeat Storm at the Florida 500, a major Piston Cup event.[2]
