In the [[Los Angeles 500]], he competes against the likes of [[Lightning McQueen]], [[Chase Racelott]], [[Jackson Storm]] and many others, proving himself a worthy opponent. For most of the race, he is seen battling McQueen and Chase. Before McQueen crashes, he and [[Chase Racelott]] pass him. After the restart, he ends placing second behind Jackson. During the [[Florida 500]], the starting race of the 2017 Piston Cup Season, he starts second behind Storm, and remains in second for most of the race. As Danny is near the front of the pack, he is not affected by the crash by [[Cam Spinner]]. He restarts in third place behind [[Jackson Storm]] and [[H.J. Hollis]].
