He was a professional race driver, who, in the 1950s, competed in the [[Piston Cup Racing Series]] with the number 3, where he was sponsored by[[All Good Auto Parts]], [[King Bowling Alley]], [[Re-Volting]] and [[Dinoco]]. In 1954, he competed in the race at the [[Fireball Beach Course]], during which the [[Doc Hudson|Hudson Hornet]] had experienced a career-ending crash.
