Howard the Truck is a film that exists in the Planes films.

In Planes: Fire & Rescue, The film's Sony Beta cassette case is seen when Maru takes it out of an oil can while at Piston Peak National Park. Dusty Crophopper starts to think that the Air Attack team, except Blade Ranger and Patch, invited him to watch the film in their base's main hangar, only to be informed by Drip to not judge a video by its cover (referencing the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover"), as the case actually contained a video cassette of CHoPs so to keep it hidden from Blade.

Trivia

  • Howard the Truck is a spoof of the 1986 film Howard the Duck, that is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The rear of an orange pickup truck emitting exhaust fumes out of a cracked egg shown on the Howard the Truck case represents Howard's beak with a cigar. George Lucas, who was the producer of the film, is also parodied as "George Lexus", and the case shows the text "Wide Bed Edition", which is a reference to widescreen.
