Cars Land Racers was an online game based in the real life attraction with the same name. The game opened in July 2012, about the same time Cars Land opened, and 5 months after The World of Cars Online closed.

In 2013 the game was closed and the page was replaced to focus on the attraction itself, with promotions and information about it.

Gameplay

The game followed the same technology as The World of Cars Online, with the exception that a membership was not required to customize your car. You could play as a guest or using a Facebook account. In both cases you could create your own custom car and compete in races against Radiator Springs residents on race tracks inspired by the three attractions at Cars Land; Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi's Flying Tires, and Radiator Springs Racers. Your oponent would be Mater, Luigi and Lightning McQueen, respectively. Winning races awards the players with prizes, like acceleration, handling, and top speeds; while leadboards showed how players stack up against their friends. There was a total of 20 achievements that one could unlock.

There was a radio where you could choose 3 options while customizing: News (residents from Radiator Springs promoting their shops), Talk (a talk between Fillmore and Sarge, hosted by Lightning McQueen), or Music (Mater singing "Welcome to Radiator Springs").

Trivia

  • Cars Land Racers was considered like a sequel to The World of Cars Online (which shut down on February 8th, 2012).
  • Unlike The World of Cars Online, races had a different perspective (similar to World Grand Prix Races).
  • Lightning McQueen wasn't updated to his Cars 2 paintjob, even though the movie was released one year before the game was opened.
