Stodgey is a fictional American car company in the Cars universe. It produces makes and models of all sorts, such as race cars and sedans. In Cars, a few of the older Piston Cup competitors are Stodgey models. Stodgey is based on Chevrolet models (although Stodgey's name is a portmanteau of Dodge).
Models
- Stodgey Suaver LT (Fred)
- Stodgey Suaver EX (Murray Clutchburn, Crusty Rotor, Floyd Mulvihill)
Trivia
- The Stodgey Suaver EX is very similar to the Husker Morocco.
- The Suaver LT is very similar to the 1972 Shyster Cremlin, of which Otis is, and the EX is similar to Chick Hicks' model, the 1979 Shyster Cremlin, who resembles a 1981 Buick Regal in NASCAR form.
- As said above, the company's name is likely a portmanteau of Dodge, and the adjective Stodgy meaning dull and uninspired; lacking originality or excitement (plus the letter "e").
- Crusty Rotor was the only Suaver EX to not be made into a Capitol Motors Mark II in Cars 3, as he retired and was replaced by Rev Roadages instead.
- The Stodgey Suaver, Shyster Cremlin, Capitol Motors Verve and the Crown Celesta are the only known production vehicles to have stock cars modelled after them.
- Misti Motorkrass and Greg Candyman resemble the Stodgey Suaver EX, despite that they are different manufacturers like Crown and Capitol Motors respectively.
