History
Cars
When Lightning McQueen is trying to search Interstate 40 for Mack, he exits I-40, entering Ornament Valley, home to Radiator Springs, when a truck is turning off the Interstate that McQueen mistakes for Mack. He follows the truck off the Interstate 40 towards Route 66. After the truck crosses the train tracks, the railroad crossing suddenly turns on, telling McQueen to stop; however when Lightning sees the train coming he is forced to speed up and crosses the tracks just in the nick of time right before the train crosses the road.
Unidentified Flying Mater
When Mater is exiting Radiator Springs at midnight, the railroad crossing suddenly turns on. Mater sees that there aren't any trains coming, and that the crossing was malfunctioning due to Mator.
